For me, this is where it all started and the inspiration for the name of the site. My Dutch Opa, onboard a small lifeboat, preparing to escape from the Nazi occupied Netherlands in 1941. He and 5 other men risked their lives and successfully made the trip across the North Sea to England. They and others like them were known as 'Engelandvaarders'. From here he travelled to Scotland where he met my Scottish 'Oma'. The rest as they say is history. And I am a 'little bit Dutch' (and that is all I speak too!). I hope you enjoy the site.
